Mark D. Poniatowski founded the firm in 1989 as the Law Offices of Mark D. Poniatowski after starting his legal career as a business and real estate associate at Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May in 1985. Mr. Poniatowski’s understanding of his client’s business goals and objectives, combined with his extensive legal experience and knowledge, make him sought after by businesses of all sizes. He has represented large, multinational publicly traded corporations and banks, as well as privately held businesses, and professional individuals. He helps them with both transactional and litigation matters involving business law, real property law and creditor’s rights/bankruptcy law. He has handled multi-party, multi-million dollar transaction and litigation matters, represented both plaintiffs and defendants through judgment at trial or arbitration, and negotiated complex settlements in mediation and privately. Mr. Poniatowski prides himself on being results-oriented. Mr. Poniatowski has built the firm on the principle of providing quality representation and practical advice tailored to the client’s needs. He understands the need to be responsive, particularly while meeting strict deadlines, without compromising quality legal representation even in the most complex and stressful situations. He has built the firm with bright, like minded attorneys, paralegals and support staff, who have been instrumental to the firm’s success over the years.
Mr. Poniatowski is a family man and has been active in his community since establishing the firm and maintaining its presence in Castro Valley in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. He has sponsored and coached local youth and high school sports, been an active member of the Rotary Club of Castro Valley, serving as its president in 2009-2010, an active member and supporter of the Eden Area Chamber of Commerce, and a sponsor and supporter of numerous other civic and charitable causes and boards. He is an avid runner (2010 San Francisco Marathon and many half marathons), continues to play ice hockey since his youth days in Michigan, and enjoys snowboarding and waterskiing with friends and family at Lake Tahoe.
Mr. Poniatowski is also active in the legal community as a member of the Alameda County Bar Association, the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum, the Commercial Law League of America, and the State Bar California Real Estate and Business Law Sections. He has served on numerous boards and committees over the years.
Mr. Poniatowski earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan in 1979 and Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University in 1985.
